By the gods.. I'm amazed by this piece! Such a great ammount of detail and a wonderful job on the shading not to mention the fierce perspective and expression of the leader..

My applogies but I can't think of any critique.

Ah... I just realized (my apologies) that you asked for advanced critique. The one thing that I see is that his helm is very detailed and full of contrast, whilst his face and hair (hair in particular) are paler, and have more of a sketchiness to them than the helm does. Were you doing more of a study of the armour, or is it to be a complete portrait? I must say you've done much better than I could think of doing, so I don't feel entirely right even writing this... it's just my thoughts.
